The August Agenda: What’s On Our Radar This Month
From London to Venice, these are the cultural moments we’re watching this August.
While August often signals a seasonal slowdown, the cultural calendar tells a different story. Around the world, creative communities, visionary brands and modern tastemakers are shaping experiences that go beyond the mainstream.
At Brand Reveller, we look to these moments not just as inspiration, but as insight into what moves people, what shapes desireand where culture is heading next.
Whether you’re fuelling creative direction, planning an editorial calendar, or simply curating your own itinerary, here are the events, exhibitions and experiences that have caught our eye this month.
Edinburgh Fringe Festival - Aug 2-26
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
Bringing thousands of performers from around the world to Scotland’s capital for the world’s largest celebration of arts and culture. From comedy and cabaret to theatre, dance, and everything in between.
Those Who Stay and Those Who Leave, LUCA Exhibition - Until 6 Sep
Location: LUCA Restaurant - Clerkenwell, London
Hosted by our friends at LUCA restaurant, Those Who Stay and Those Who Leave is a photography exhibition capturing the spirit of Italy's most symbolic summer ritual.
Commissioned by the restaurant, photographer Michele Lacobini travelled to Sicily during Ferragosto, the annual holiday when cities empty out and families migrate to the coast in search of sun, sea and connection. The resulting images are a sun-soaked portrait of stillness and movement, of tradition and escape. Now adorning the walls of LUCA, the series offers an evocative glimpse into the rhythms of Italian summer, inviting guests to dine among stories of departure, return, and everything in between.
David Hockney 25 - Until Aug 31
Location: Fondation Louis Vuitton - Paris, France
It’s the last chance to see David Hockney’s wonderful exhibition in Paris! A landmark retrospective spanning 70 years of the British artist’s career. Featuring over 400 works, from A Bigger Splash (1967) to After Munch: Less is Known than People Think (2023), the exhibition also includes an immersive installation exploring Hockney’s operatic visions.
San Ciriaco - Aug 8th
Location: Ibiza
San Ciriaco, Ibiza's patron saint day, will be celebrated on August 8, 2025. The day is marked by religious observances, processions, and a grand fireworks display over Ibiza Town. The festivities honor the island's history and community spirit, attracting both locals and tourists. Our team at Lío will be celebrating with a front-row view of the fireworks, hosting an unforgettable night in honour of the island’s patron saint.

The world’s spotlight turns to Venice as the 82nd edition of the Venice International Film Festival returns to the Lido. A cornerstone of the global cinema calendar, the festival champions bold storytelling and artistic excellence, drawing filmmakers, critics, and stars from across the world.
